...Alhamdulillah.....

I juz came back from the Hospital...to release a Suspect who was remanded for a serious offence but he was only given approx about one week to live tho...

Ok this post is not about him but actually about the local people in sarawak and problem they face..i am also local..Aborigins to be exact...and iam proud of it ahaks....

Ok actually, the story began when i asked the police officers about the IC's and Birth Certs of the suspect, and but he began to tell me of the history of everything which mainly faced by the Iban's and Org Ulu in Sarawak....why they dont have those documents...

The story began when according to the traditions that especially in rural areas..their parents trying to prevent their children from migrating to the cities or leave home, especially their daughters because when they died they want their children especially daughters to cry and mourn for them (dont ask me why its their traditions)..the best way to prevent this from happening is not to registers their birth so that they wont be able to look for job or even to migrate to the cities....

Before this i thought it was only because ignorant or because the difficulties of going to the JPN because most of them live in a very remote area which can only be reach via boats...but actually there are more than that.....

Can we change this mindset????

i dont know...as locals it is a serius problems that we're facing...without IC and Birth Certs..u cant go to work, u cant go to Universities and u cant even registers ur child for a proper education...no development and no education...they wont be able to change...technologies develop everyday, people become more and more educated and advance and these people will be left behind...no doubt some of them do reach out and accepted the help and became successful but yet...still majority of them live a medieval life, and nomadic lifestyle....

Iam so grateful that my parents stress on the importance of education and want us to study hard to change our life....Alhamdulillah...
